Social Accountability Foundation (SAF) is planned to be an independent, impartial, not-for-profit international enterprise dedicated to improve the lives of millions of people around the world, and to safeguard our planet's well being - by seeking a voluntary commitment from employers to observe fair and ethical practices, and to create a safer and better workplace and environment.

SAF has taken a global initiative to evolve social accountability norms, known as SAN 5000. SAN 5000 is a movement calling for voluntary participation of leaders and chief executives of enterprises from all around the world. It is a unique opportunity for enterprises to play a significant role in upgrading the lives of the people they directly and indirectly impact - as a result of their actions and policies.

We invite all organizations - SMEs (small and medium enterprises) and MNCs (multinational corporations), exporters and importers, public sector companies and NGOs (non-government organizations), entrepreneurs and local, municipal, and state-level organizations, to join this initiative aimed at enhancing the lives of all working people and their families.
